Jeremiah Chapter Fifty-Two

  1. The 597BC deportation left the poorest of the land (2nd Kgs. 24:14), and now the 586BC deportation left only the poorest of the poor (Jer. 52:12-16; 2nd Kgs. 25:12).
  2. Much of the temple required dismantling in order to plunder the material wealth of its construction (Jer. 52:17-23).
  3. The remaining spiritual and secular authorities found in Jerusalem are brought to Nebuchadnezzar for execution (Jer. 52:24-27).

Second Kings Chapter Twenty-Five

  1. Nebuzaradan is the servant of Nebuchadnezzar tasked with the burning of Jerusalem, and the plundering of the temple (2nd Kgs. 25:8-17).

  3. Zedekiah’s cabinet is arrested and executed (2nd Kgs. 25:19-21).
